Brace yourself, the spoilers are coming!

I get it.
Game of Thrones was amazing last night. As it was last week, with all that blood and all that death…
Funny thing is I didn’t even watch the last two episodes. But I don’t need to because my lovely Twitter friends let me know what happened and saved me an hour of my life by tweeting everything they could in 140 characters or less. End sarcasm.
We all love to tweet, but there is a difference between “OMG GoT WAS EPIC!” and “OMG! ____ got their head chopped off and then ____ died too! EPIC.”
Big difference.
This isn’t the first time an episode has been ruined for me. A few months ago, I found out who Gossip Girl was because a friend of mine liked a non-mutual friend’s status and it showed up on my newsfeed. I waited several years to find out who the clever all-knowing mastermind AKA Gossip Girl was for it all to be ruined in ten nanoseconds (don’t judge me).
I know I’m ranting, but is it justified? Am I allowed to be mad that one of my favourite TV shows was ruined?
According to this article, once the show has aired, talking about it doesn’t mean it’s a spoiler.
I guess I can just stay off Twitter and Facebook until I’ve watched all my much-anticipated shows, but then again – aren’t I a social media coordinator? Pretty sure it’s in my job description to go on Twitter and Facebook on a regular basis.
Are you a spoiler? Do you enjoy live-tweeting while you watch? If you do tend to spoil, then you my friend *SPOILER ALERT* are a jerk!
Kidding aside, how do you avoid spoilers? Is Twitter the death of my PVR?
